In actuality, USA's national flower is the rose.
I always wondered why Himuraya-sama chose the Aquilegia instead.

I think this counts as a good reason.

Alfred/America, Francis/France (Arthur/England off screen) and Axis Powers Hitalia = Himuraya
Francisco/Mexico = Me
