Yes, I'm hooked on a new series: Axis Powers - Hetalia
It's about freaking time, if you ask me.

For those who don't know what it's about, here's the cliff-notes version of it: Anthropomorphizing (and slightly stereotyping) of countries mostly around the time of WW1 and onward.

It's actually quite educational (since it portrayed actual events) and quite hilarious and the hints of shounen ai was definitely a plus.

Anyway, back to the topic in hand, what's sad is that the first thing I draw is not just regular fanart of the series... but rather an OC.
I mean, in the series, we have most of Europe, America, Canada and even Cuba... but not Mexico.

Anyway, being the true Mexican that I am, I decided to poke fun of my country and a bit of it's stereotype. It's all in harmless fun. Plus, I'll definitely have history and facts to back up whatever I do. If you're insulted... step outside and we'll deal with it like civilized folk. :evillaugh:

Top to bottom :
* - Spain and little Mexico. Can we say awww? Although, France would usually up and steal Mexico away from Spain often (which kinda gave influence to Mexico's facial hair).
*- If it's not Beer in his hand, it's Tequila.
*- C'mon... can you tell me another country that likes Beer other than these two? :XD:
*- The full outfit: A poncho/Sarape (underneath relatively unknown, although ammunition or more alcohol is speculated). Sombrero (although hardly worn). A bandito Sash, Mariachi style pants and cowboy boots with spurs. He was probably a little TOO traumatized from France's fashion sense.
*- The battle of Puebla AKA Cinco de Mayo, Hetalia Style.
*- C'mon... he just wants to visit! How come Canada has free reign? x_x

Unfortunately, there's no Guatemala either. I think Cuba's the only one that represents South America. ^^;

Woop! Another Hetalia fan! This stuff spreads faster than the plague. In a good way, of course! I must admit though, this is the first Hetalia OC I've seen. Nice! :D

OMG. . . he is so cute. . . I really like the pic with him and Spain (chili pepper love!) and where he's trying to 'hop the fence'. Poor Mexico. Give him love US!!!

His character design is really awesome. . . I'd totally cosplay him! :boogie:

well, so far, I have yet to see Brazil's pic... but that doesn't mean that he doesn't exist in the series. Like I said before, I just started. ^_^

I've seen some OC's in the Hetalia Meme's <_<
But rarely of Mexico. *shrugs*

And it should spread! It's educational! Schools should incorporate it into their curriculum. Then again, some parents may bet huffy about the shounen-ai bits... Meh.
